Miniwo Copyright, Likeness and Impersonation Complaints Policy

Effective date: September 28, 2026
Last updated: September 28, 2026

Miniwo respects intellectual property, privacy, and the rights of people depicted in content. This Policy explains how to report copyright or trademark concerns, misuse of a likeness, impersonation, and non-consensual intimate imagery.

Send complaints, counter-notices, status requests, and appeals to [email protected]. The suggested subject lines help us route requests; using a different subject does not invalidate an otherwise sufficient notice. You do not need a Miniwo account to make a complaint. Our receipt of a complaint does not automatically establish that a law was violated; we assess the applicable rules, evidence, and required procedure.

1. Choose the appropriate route

Concern Where to submit
Your copyrighted work was used without authorization [email protected] — subject: Copyright Complaint
Trademark infringement or false brand affiliation [email protected] — subject: Trademark Complaint
Your face, name, voice, identity, or personal information was misused [email protected] — subject: Likeness or Privacy Complaint
A real or synthetic intimate depiction was shared without consent [email protected] — subject: Urgent: Intimate Image Removal
Suspected child sexual abuse or exploitation In-app child-safety report or [email protected]
A removal or restriction was mistaken [email protected] — subject: Content Appeal; for a U.S. DMCA counter-notice, follow Section 3

Being depicted in a photo does not necessarily make you the copyright owner. You may use the likeness or intimate-image route even if someone else owns the photograph’s copyright. Do not force a privacy complaint into a copyright claim.

2. Copyright complaints

For a copyright complaint, provide:

  1. Your name and contact information, and whether you are the rights holder or an authorized representative. For a U.S. DMCA notice, include reasonably sufficient contact details, such as a postal address, telephone number, and email address if available.
  2. A description of the protected work, with a legitimate reference link or other identifying information if available. If multiple works are involved, provide an appropriate representative list.
  3. The precise Miniwo URL, card identifier, account, or other location of the material you want reviewed. Include enough detail for us to find it.
  4. An explanation of the claimed infringement, including any relevant license or permission issue.
  5. For a notice under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act, your physical or electronic signature and the required good-faith and accuracy/authority declarations below.

Suggested declarations for a U.S. DMCA notice:

Electronic signature: [FULL NAME]
Date: [DATE]

Consider applicable exceptions and limitations, including fair use or fair dealing where relevant, before submitting a claim. A copyright registration number is helpful if available but is not a universal prerequisite for submitting a removal notice. Knowingly material misrepresentations in a U.S. notice or counter-notice may lead to liability.

U.S. copyright contact and designated-agent information

Send copyright complaints to [email protected]. This contact address alone does not establish registration of a designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office.

Where the U.S. DMCA process applies, we act expeditiously on sufficiently complete notices, may disable access to the identified material, and notify the affected user as appropriate. Other jurisdictions may apply different procedures. We may request reasonably necessary clarification rather than rejecting a report merely for using a different format.

3. U.S. copyright counter-notices

If your material was removed or disabled under the U.S. DMCA process and you believe the action resulted from a mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice to [email protected]. This process is available only where the statutory DMCA procedure applies; otherwise use the content appeal route in Section 10. It is not the route for challenging an independent privacy, safety, or intimate-image restriction.

Include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the removed material and its former location.
  3. Your name, address, and telephone number.
  4. A statement under penalty of perjury that you genuinely believe the removal or disabling resulted from mistake or misidentification.
  5. Your consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal district court for the district containing your address or, if your address is outside the United States, a district in which Miniwo may be found; and your agreement to accept service from the original notice sender or that person’s agent.

We forward a qualifying counter-notice to the original complainant. That can disclose the contact information you include. Consider seeking independent advice before submitting it.

Where the statutory counter-notice process applies, restoration generally occurs 10–14 business days after receipt of a qualifying counter-notice unless the designated agent receives notice of a court action seeking to restrain the disputed activity. A separate lawful safety or privacy basis may independently prevent restoration; we will explain that basis where permitted. We do not automatically restore intimate imagery merely because a copyright dispute changes status.

4. Trademark and false-affiliation complaints

Provide the trademark or brand, the rights holder, the countries and registrations involved if relevant, the location of the disputed content, and an explanation of likely confusion, false affiliation, or other alleged misuse. Include your relationship to the rights holder and a contact method.

We consider context, including descriptive use, criticism, and other lawful uses. The presence of a brand name alone does not establish infringement. We may remove misleading accounts or content under our own rules even where a full legal determination is not possible.

5. Likeness, impersonation, and privacy complaints

Use this route when content misuses your identity, depicts you without appropriate authorization, falsely suggests you participated in an AI interaction, exposes private information, or creates a misleading account or character in your name.

Provide:

We request identity evidence only when reasonably necessary and proportionate. Do not attach an unredacted identity document to an initial email. If further verification is necessary, we will explain what is needed and how to provide it safely. We do not require a copyright claim or public disclosure of your real identity to consider a likeness complaint.

We assess authorization, identifiability, misleading context, privacy interests, harm, applicable law, and any relevant protected expression. Depending on the circumstances, we may remove content, restrict a character or account, request changes, or explain why no action is taken.

6. Urgent removal of non-consensual intimate imagery

Email [email protected] with the subject “Urgent: Intimate Image Removal” and include the information below. Instructions are publicly available at Intimate Image Removal. No Miniwo account, copyright ownership, police report, or court order is required to submit a request.

This route covers intimate depictions shared without consent, including digitally altered or AI-generated depictions of an identifiable person. Consent to make an image or send it privately does not necessarily authorize publication.

Provide the following for the depicted individual or a person authorized to act on their behalf:

  1. A physical or electronic signature.
  2. Information sufficient to identify and locate the depiction, such as its URL or content identifier.
  3. A brief good-faith statement that the depiction was published without the depicted person’s consent, plus relevant supporting information.
  4. Contact information we can use to follow up.

If submitting for another person, explain your authority. We do not require a fresh copy of the intimate image when a location or identifier is sufficient.

Where the U.S. TAKE IT DOWN Act applies, we remove the depiction within 48 hours after receiving a valid removal request and make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies within that period. We also comply with any other applicable removal obligations. For other reports, we prioritize urgent review under our safety rules.

We provide a request reference and status or outcome information. Necessary evidence may be kept in restricted systems for lawful safety, reporting, or legal purposes; it is not kept publicly accessible. We may take steps to prevent re-uploading and do not require you to locate every duplicate before we act.

Do not use a general copyright counter-notice to demand restoration of prohibited intimate imagery. Any review must assess the applicable intimate-image law and independent safety grounds.

7. Suspected child sexual abuse material

Report the content location using the in-app child-safety report tool or email [email protected] with the subject “Urgent: Child Safety.” Do not download, retransmit, or attach suspected abuse material. If someone is in immediate danger, contact appropriate emergency services.

We prioritize these reports, restrict access where appropriate, preserve necessary information securely, and make reports to appropriate authorities when required by law. Users do not need to investigate or prove a criminal case themselves.

8. Notices of other allegedly illegal content

You may report allegedly illegal content by emailing [email protected] with the subject “Illegal Content Notice,” without holding the relevant copyright. Identify the content precisely, explain why you believe it is illegal, provide appropriate contact information, and confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Contact-information requirements are subject to exceptions where required by law, including for specified child-abuse offences.

For an EU notice of allegedly illegal content, include a sufficiently substantiated explanation, the exact electronic location or other information needed to identify it, your name and email unless an applicable exception permits omission, and a statement that you believe in good faith that the information and allegations are accurate and complete.

Where applicable, we acknowledge the notice, assess it diligently, and communicate the decision and available review routes. Applicable EU Digital Services Act rights and other statutory remedies are not replaced by this Policy.

9. Evidence, confidentiality, and communications

We use complaint information to locate content, verify authority where necessary, investigate, communicate decisions, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. Our Privacy Policy at Privacy Policy explains retention and rights.

Ordinary reports do not reveal the reporter’s identity to the reported user. Formal legal processes may require disclosure of a notice or counter-notice and associated information. Where appropriate, we redact irrelevant or unnecessarily sensitive details. Do not include information unrelated to the claim.

We cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality where disclosure is legally required. We do not publish intimate-image complainants’ identities as part of a community moderation notice.

10. Decisions, appeals, and repeated abuse

We may request clarification, preserve relevant evidence, temporarily restrict access, remove content, limit features, or suspend an account. We explain decisions and review routes where appropriate and legally permitted.

If you believe a non-DMCA decision was mistaken, contact [email protected] with the case reference and relevant information. Statutory counter-notices and special removal rules continue to apply separately. You retain any available court, regulatory, or external dispute-resolution rights.

We maintain and reasonably implement a policy to terminate accounts of repeat copyright infringers in appropriate circumstances. Repeated or serious likeness abuse, privacy violations, or evasion of removals may also lead to termination. We do not treat every unverified allegation as an established violation.

Do not submit knowingly false or abusive claims. A report made honestly will not be penalized merely because we reach a different conclusion.
